Thx to Miss Yana ( Twinkle lilis), for triggering me on writing on thi
issue...
all started up when i commented on her previous post
Yea... i know, education again.... But like whatever..
Better for me to express the unspoken..
Plus, dats my freedom of speech(remember)..
So, after such a long period taken by the "so-called round
table" by the Ministry of Education
Berjanggut la tunggu keputusan yg terlalu lama....
Had u heard of the idiom,
.jpg)
"too many cooks spoil the broth"??
tu la... ramai sgt duk berbincang, lama plak tu...
MAKA???
keluarlah keputusan yg mengejutkan!!!
UPSR will be Continued... (with a bit of adjustment here n there they said)
PMR??? ----ABOLISHED.. like wut?
then tukar kepada = school based assessment ... (Shoot!)
Ministry of Education..
.jpg)
"I Beg To Differ"
Kenapa???
The result should be otherwise...
UPSR are the one that should be abolished
Why Upsr is not relevant for me!
We must bear in mind... that the factor we must put forth is the condition of pupils 1st, before we make any decision...
Maybe kementerian xnampak 1 other important aspect..
which is -BIOLOGICAL FACTOR-
different child had different level of maturity,,,
yup, setengah tu x baligh lagi..
So, the idea of this examination is irrelevant in the first place..
Most of them cannot even cope with the idea of scoring for examination..
Yea, majority are still in the state of childhood...
"They wont be in favor of examination system that require them to put all their brain-output on paper in final exam.. and been expected to score for it..."
.jpg)
Again, their title aren't students, but pupils i remind all of u!
Yea, considering back .. it is true.. i can still remember how i suck on UPSR... don even gt the idea of the so called 5A's..
only when PMR i realise i shud study and i pays the different!!..
(OOPSS!)
Ada yg tak setuju dgn I???
xpe, mai I Bidas U siap2!!
The people who defended UPSR is simply because it will distinguish excellent and poor student
for what purpose???--- Entering GOOD SCHOOL! thats all??
BOO....
that's not what education is
all about!!!
.jpg)
Untung la parents yg dapat anak yg matang awal... and
yg dapat anak skema, duk menghadap buku ja, xreti main..(maybe i sound harsh.. but it's true)
First of all, how do u differentiate good and poor student???
Juz by their BM,BI,SCIENCE n Mths result?
Nope,
these children havent reach
adolescence yet...
Then what should replace them
And they should be evaluated by their -...
-Participation in class
-Efficacy in leadership and Special field-curricular
-Attitudes towards learning
-Oral tests of Bahasa and English
-Improvement on examination, not on instant exams only
-and so on...
I've seen the BM n BI paper for standard 6 pupils... and it sucks!!!! the question are not to their level of mindset.....
But Why PMR is ok???
No, not really ok... but we just need to improve the content of PMR??
the 8 subject is of course a lot...
.jpg)
but its basic and
i find no problem so far...
Just ubah la... examination's subject so that, the school can decide better which student should go Science Stream and Art Stream..
cuz until now, still student find themself in the wrong lane...
(EDITED)
But now..."school-based assesment"
wow!!! sounds amazing...
Ini lagi lah hancur.... congrats,
once we open rooms for the school to decide on what evaluation the wish to put on their students, that's where all the problems come
OMG... NO Uniformity, Bias Marks, the main objectives will be diverted and will be different in all school..
I dont see any benefit!
As if there's no examination in the first place.
How come school be given autonomous power on deciding this.??
(what's the function of "jabatan" n "kementerian" in the first place)???
what if the school comprises mainly of "slow" student
and compare it to Top schools..
Yg maju terus maju.. yg mundur terus mundur.....
Basically... my last words..
The Verdict or final decision of the Ministry
should decide based on students
Readiness, Age, Maturity, Relevance to Future demand.... and Competency
.jpg)
P/S : Still hear no uplifting of Co-Curricular importance in school... damn.. i tell u like Millions of time... Learning in practical is more effectives than in Books... May our children have the best

i rse dua2 tak patut abolished..

Jangan abolish SPM sudah.. then again, if they do.. smua orang bleh masuk university
ReplyDeleteAku pun tak sokong PMR dibubarkan weyy. UPSR tuh apa ja weyy. ramai ja yang 4A 1B tyme UPSR but after SPM boleh fly. haaa, so mcm UPSR tuh just a beginning.

ReplyDeleteSasha...
yup... aku lagi la choi... lagi truk dari tu kot.. they not meant for it
HoooHooHooo
ReplyDeleteape kejadah kan
kalau buat sistem mcm nie mmg xefficient.
mmg la sistem mcm nie boleh kurangkan fenomena student belajar semata-mata untuk exam dan segala bagai yg bekenaan tu.
tapi bile tgk balik, big examination only when they are at standard 6 (UPSR), lepas tu da masuk secondary school, dari mule masuk, mmg langsong xkan ade big exam utk diorunk, tp during Form 5 diorunk akan ade TOTALLY A VERY BIG EXAMINATION (SPM).
tempoh untuk student honeymoon sangat la panjang sebelom SPM, dan kalau mcm nie, sometimes students xakan rase besungguh sungguh nak study sbb diorunk akan set in mind yg big exam laaambat lagi haa, so buat ape sruggle stdy awal awal.
something link with psychology laa kan
TOTALLY kami sebagai suara muda negara mmg bantah sistem nie. TOTALLY DISAGREE ;')
Wah.... suara anak muda.. gitew!!!
ReplyDeleteYup.. if there is problem... it's in the teaching and learning process...
still number of new n poor-skilled teachers are an issue... polish them up
suara anak muda yg akan jadi anggota WANITA PERTAMA. HAHAHAHA ;'))
ReplyDeleteKAU MMG ASYIK EJAA NAMA AKU SALAH SALAH SALAH

ReplyDeleteemm..... twinkle lilies tu bukan nama btul... haha, choi.. igt salah pun xpe.. hahahaha....... Yana tu nama manja dowh... ko cm xbiasa kan ngn aku... xpa.. pas ni aku eja nama ko betul2 yee.... siap letak inverted comma ag... puas.. haha
betul shasha kata... banyak kawan2 ak UPSR low, tapi SPM gempak
ReplyDeletePaan, but the level of maturity is not depending on whether he's already baligh or not. It depends on how far a person can distinguish between good and bad. That is what I understand in Islamic perspective.
ReplyDeleteFor me, nothing is wrong in continuing UPSR because it is the best mechanism to know the level of the pupils in the early age. It's not about the excellent or the poor pupils. My experiences as a teacher, I think UPSR should be remained because that is the only way to make the pupils know what is the main motive to study. Err, this is just my opinion. (:
Rda.... I only mention "baligh" as a side point.... has nothing to do on maturity! and yea... its about distinguishing bad or good... u see. they can even get the idea of what good they may have by scoring in the examinations... that's why some student who stumbled in upsr score in pmr n upsr.. u cnnt juz put urself in the situation... cause a lot of students still hasnt reach the maturity... but back to the earlier question.. baligh, although not necessarily right, does make the different in knowing good or bad in Islam
ReplyDeletei beg to differ the 'i beg to differ'. =)
ReplyDeletethe more reasons are created, the more we are left behind. baligh and mumayyiz, minus the physical changes and so, is a long-breath war. Name you standard 1, form3, either form5, maturity continues, developed, and reached not in any confined ages, but through experience, and God willing, I must say. A fullstop to an early-phase of evaluation, is what exactly happening to the status quo, and do the kids, really that loser? I say no :)
Nurus..., haha, glad to have u here... Emm, i strongly agree with the idea that we continue on developing no matter what.. yes, that undeniable.. haha.
ReplyDeletebut the issue here is whether the level of maturity they bear is equivalent to the evaluation given to them.. to be exact the relevancy..
don misunderstand... I didnt say we abolish the evaluation..
Remember everytime we cast off something.. there's always a "replacement"..
things must change over time for better improvement... i say yes
a justice delayed, is a justice denied. ohh, do replace the word 'justice' to anything justiciable paan :)
ReplyDeletethe imposement, the force, is whats left for us now. any sense of replacement is no more than to lift the outcome deemed, but will never brings the outcome needed.
ohh this issue,is one of the never-ending issues. You wil definitely counter-attack me, and so do I. So, let us share one thing in common : We believe in changes, but in different form, different way. We are concern citizen :)
personally, it's a new plan and a new idea that u try to approach paan. Well done. Z ada bincang dengan member jugak pasal benda ni. It's just a mere change to adopt University punya style dalam sistem sekolah. I believe that it's ok if u want to adopt that style but it's need to take a lot of considerations. Maturity is one of the important things but parents factor, teachers and school also shall be taken into account.
ReplyDeleteYup there will be a tendecy of bias.
I should admit that i don't follow this matter seriously but just sharing my thought, my dear learned friend paan :)
yuo... z. stuju... parents, teachers, and external condition pun sometimes play a part gak...
ReplyDeleteEmmm... Z, there are no comments above deserve to be wowed or booed.. believe me.. having u to share ur opinion us great enough for me
Much Obliged
paan, i think government still planning about it.. why not we wait and see government decision and how school based assessment work?? i do not see any problems about upsr because it good for earlier students.. agree with arda.. because they are not matured enough like you said so we need to give batch mark to them why they need to study which is to excel in examination.. however it indirectly polish the young students the way of study.... but because government afraid that this young students will only focus on paper... government abolished the pmr and replaced it with more practical paper which assessment based school... therefore.. when there are facing big examination like spm they are ready not only on a paper but also practically.. don't you see... and i totally disagree with twinkies lilis that said, students will not focus because there are expecting the big examination is still far away... that is not government fault that is the students fault because failed to follow the syllabus or maybe the teachers fault because failed to realize the students how important is examination..there are many factors that can effect the students study.. however that is not the system fault... about the separation of poor and good students.. its actually helps the teachers to help the students.. if the students is clever the way their learning is different with the poor one.. can you imaging if the government combined the students without differentiate based on their level.. of course some of the students will never get what their teachers tried to teach.. at the end of the day the clever become more clever. while worst become more worst...... i hope you can think more deeper.. bye.. love you..!!!
ReplyDeleteFariz... i have made enough research before i post this,....i think u're the one who should read and understand deeper my writing before saying it..!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, government is not planning.. They have made their decision already! apa maksud u they still planning?? nothing.. the decision is all out.. cuma nk implement ja. I dont find any reason to wait.. sorry
Fariz, u must understand.. My analyst on UPSR is on the fact that the "area of evaluation is too remote"... Hello, u must understand.. u cannot compare them with those taking PMR.. cuz they are old enough to face it.. But, when they are standard 6, that's why we need to evaluate them in a more practical way... because "the nature of these pupils", they are playful and their state of maturity is less on seriousness on 'formal learning'.. dats y there should be more emphasis on some aspect which i HIGHLIGHTED IN PURPLE(which i guess u didnt read). I xkata exam hapus.. exam still ada, but how they are evaluated tu penting... tolong faham ya saudara fariz.. isu semangat utk study xtimbul di sini!
Btw, i harap u jgn make assumption.. sebab government cuma kata school-based assessment.. bukan "more-practical assessment" seperti mana yg u claim kat atas.. Those two are COMPLETELY different dear Fariz.. it's not on practical.. still on the same way, but the different now is the autonomous power is given by the school to decide what type of evaluation shouls be made... i hope u understand now.. ok?
2ndly, i xnampak ur stand kat sini!! u kata upsr biar stay je cmtu.. but PMR kita biar practical skit xpe... see, dats my point.. kalau nk biar prctical skit, why not u start it off at UPSR level... they are younger and their attitude and participation should be evaluated first... kalau masa PMR tu, nk more on theory ok, sbb da semakin tua n diorg boleh trima more soft knowledge! kenapa u sokong dat utk PMR, but not on UPSR.... again fariz... please understand!
And jgn senang2 nk blame student and teachers... amboii.. sorry, its a bit unethical for u to say so.. tarik balik..
The functions of the MINISTRY is to provide the path and the direction for these education society to move on.. they move on the policy by the government,... and jgn la ko sng ja nk hempuk kat cikgu.. dsar yg memberi perbezaan
Ur biggest mistake is undertstanding my point about separation of poor and good students...
Brother, I xkata pun kita xperlu differentiate these students.. mmg perlu.. itu semua org tahu.. But the question is, the way the evaluation is made to distinguish good and poor students is not good enough... that's what i tell u.. So, ur comment doesnt come up to it. What im saying is that the 5 papers they answered is not enough to measure their intelligence in furthering their studies in secondary school... i back Ms Twinkle lilis...
No war yea.. juz hope u understand deeper as u said.,.. love ur comments... With love
daripada awal anak2 ini patut dididik supaya pulun belajar utk exam....and thats why i think UPSR stayed....bayangkan kalau xdak UPSR,PMR,tup2 SPM bru ade..rasanya banyak lg anak2 melayu dan malaysia hancor....apabila adanya exam, disiplin dan kesedaran untuk belajar terbentuk ...melentur buluh bia dari rebungnya
